Leandra (Carbajal) Reyes

February 27, 1952 — March 11, 2022

Mass of Christian Burial for Leandra (Carbajal) Reyes, 70, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Denzil Vinthanage, Father Timothy Kelly, and Deacon Jesus Reyes officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the church.

Mrs. Reyes was born February 27, 1952 in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico to the late Concepcion (Ibarra) and Ruperto Carbajal, and died Friday, March 11, 2022 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Reyes adored her children, grandchildren and God-children. She was everything good. She loved traditional Mexican folklore music and had travelled all over the world. She had a very green thumb and loved to garden. Mrs. Reyes prayed with her husband every day. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jesus Reyes of Lufkin; children and their spouses, Mateo and Veronica Reyes of Kennesaw, Georgia, Juan Pablo and Juanita Reyes of Monroe, North Carolina, Jesus Jr. and Ana Reyes of Diboll, Yesenia and Nicholas Allier of Dallas, Sonia and Joey Arellano of Diboll, Manuela and Colin Green of Tyler, Andres and Iliana Reyes of Longmont, Colorado, Eddie Reyes of Charlotte, North Carolina, Conchita and Marcus Esteves of Lufkin, Lupita and Chris Shepard of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Angelina and Brandon Jackson of Orlando, Florida; 31 grandchildren, three honorary grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Benjamin Carbajal and Antonio Carbajal, both of Fort Worth, Hermelinda Carbajal, Guadalupe Rangel, Rosa Rangel, Miguel Rangel, all of Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Francisco Javier Reyes.

Pallbearers will be Mateo Reyes, Juan Pablo Reyes, Jesus Reyes, Jr., Andres Reyes, Eddie Reyes, and Xavier Arellano.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.
