Memorial services for Leah Marie Ralston, 59, of Huntington will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Trey Ainsworth officiating. A reception will follow at the Lufkin Memorial VFW Post 1836. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Leah was born April 17, 1965 in Topeka, Kansas to Sheryl Ann (Bloom) and Albert Castle, and died Thursday, July 4, 2024 in San Augustine, Texas, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1983, and married Flint Ralston in 1985, through this union and their life together they had three daughters. During that time she worked three jobs while earning her Associates degree in Nursing. Her selfless, compassionate and reassuring touch was shared with 1000s of patients over her nearly 30-year career. She worked in many different specialties but was most recently dedicated to providing hospice care to patients around the East Texas area. In 2016 she was chosen as “Best Nurse in Lufkin” by the Lufkin Daily News.

Leah was authentic, supportive, and empathetic. She loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and hugged you like there was no end. She cherished every moment she spent with her family, but especially loved moments in her backyard surrounded by her kids and grandkids. She loved classic rock and concerts, spending the day gardening in the soil, and watching any sport her grandchildren play. She was truly a blessing to those who came into contact with her, and she will be missed greatly.

Survivors include her daughters, Nakita Crump, Kaylee Phillips, and Morgan Garber; their husbands, Joshua Crump, Justin Phillips, and Caleb Garber; all 10 of her grandchildren, Allison, Delilah, Corbin, Arizona, Owen, Sophia, Emilya, Maverick, Aliver, and Haislee; her former husband, Flint Ralston; her mother, Sheryl Petry; sister, Linda Urton; and brothers, Jason and Bert Castle.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Castle; and her stepfather; Larry Petry.
