September 13, 1924 — August 11, 2017

Funeral services for Lawrence Parker “Buddy” Seaton, Jr., 92, of Lufkin will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Bingham officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Lawrence Parker Seaton, Jr., known to most as Buddy, was born September 13, 1924 in Shreveport, Louisiana, the only child of Lawrence Parker Seaton, Sr. and Margaret Jane (Fortune) Seaton. He left this life to enter the presence and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ Friday, August 11, 2017 after a year plus battle with cancer.

From birth to high school graduation, Buddy lived in Shreveport and graduated from C.E. Byrd High School. He spent a year at LSU, but volunteered for the U.S. Army Air Corps and became a single engine flight instructor. It was during his service years that he met Ruth Elaine Gilbert and they were married August 4, 1944. After serving in WWII, Ruth and Buddy went to California to get into the real estate business, but after that did not work out, they returned to LSU where he graduated with a BSME and went to work as a pipeliner for Transcontinental Gas Pipeline. During his time with Transco, he lived in Alabama, Texas and New Jersey, retiring in Houston in 1986. After retirement they built a residence in Conroe, Texas and played a lot of golf. Four years after Ruth’s passing, he moved to Trinity and remarried Ethel Mary Quebedeaux, played more golf, and enjoyed Lake Livingston. He enjoyed his life and looked forward to enjoying his family and friends. In November 2014, Ethel and Buddy moved to PineCrest Retirement Community in Lufkin and there is where his life was completed.

He leaves behind three children, Peggy Peavy and husband Tom, Joanna Lee Seaton, all of Atlanta, and Parker Seaton and wife Julie of Lake Jackson; grandchildren, Colby Ballard and wife Tammy, Elaine Zediker and husband Craig, Laura Ballard, Kalee Sewell and husband Gabe, and Conner Seaton; great-grandchildren, Georgia, Zoe, Pearl and Serenity; cousin, Nancy Grogan of Shreveport, Louisiana; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents; the first love of his life and mother of his children, wife of 49 plus years, Ruth Elaine (Gilbert) Seaton; and the second love of his life, wife of 17 plus years, Ethel Mary (Quebedeaux) Seaton.

Pallbearers will be Parker Seaton III, Tom Peavy, Larry Elms, Jack Scott, Colby Ballard, Gabe Sewell, Conner Seaton, and Bill Scott.
