Laszlo Andreas Vincze

Funeral services for Laszlo Andreas Vincze, 73, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Sheriff Tom Selman officiating. Angelina County Jail Warden Nick Gardner, Lt. Stephen Netherton, Sgt. Crystal Tovar and deputies Mark Guerra and Adam Herrington will share thoughts and comments to honor the life and memory of Deputy Vincze. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Vincze was born June 14, 1951 in Munich, West Germany to the late Anna Marie (Felber) and Andreas Vincze, and died Monday, January 6, 2025 in a local hospital.

Mr. Vincze served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the ‘70’s and attained the rank of Sergeant. After departure from the Marines, Mr. Vincze later joined the U.S. Army and after his discharge from duty, later became a member of the Texas State Guard, attaining the rank of Captain in the military police, serving for over 20 years, where he was active at the time of his death. In 2003, Mr. Vincze joined the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office and spent the next 21 years as a deputy handling transportation and prisoner transfer duties at the Angelina County Jail. Deputy Vincze was well liked by everyone at the courthouse and was much loved by his Sheriff’s Office family. Deputy Vincze retired from county service on December 31, 2023.  After only a couple of months away from his work family at the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Vincze was re-hired, returning to his work that he enjoyed, much to his co-worker’s delight.

Survivors include his wife, Willa Marie (Duncan) Vincze; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Werner, Greg and Stacey Vincze, and Mark Bradley and Carley Vincze; grandchildren, Laszlo Jayce Vincze, Liam Vincze, and Katalina Vincze; sister, Eva Jaworski; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason Vincze; sister, Maria Vincze; and great-grandmother, Catalina KaNoker.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
