Larry Gene Morris

Graveside services for Larry Gene Morris, 76, of Burke will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery with Brother Steve Comstock officiating.

Mr. Morris was born December 12, 1940 in Burke, Texas to the late Gladys Marie (Dominy) and Charles Clifford Morris, and died Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in Lufkin.

Mr. Morris was a lifetime resident of Burke. He retired as a supervisor from Temple-Inland following more than 45 years of employment. He was a Councilman for the City of Burke, a board member at Temple Federal Credit Union, and a volunteer fireman for the City of Diboll. Mr. Morris enjoyed hunting in Colorado, fishing, work, and being on his tractor. He was a member of Diboll First Assembly of God.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Carolyn Morris of Burke; sons, Ricky Morris and wife Misty of Burke, Bradley Morris of Lufkin, and Keith Morris and wife Lorena of Diboll; daughter, Cindi Huber and husband Hunt of Hudson; grandchildren, Garret Morris, Greyson Morris, Greenleigh Morris, Taylor Morris, Tyler Morris, Jessica Diane Morris, Lexy Smith, Hunter Havard, Logan Morris, Cash Morris, Michalye Richardson, Lexie Griffith, Cameron Reynolds, Jarrett Huber, and Emily Huber; sister, Sophie Lenderman and husband Raymond of Beulah; niece, Charlotte Carter and husband David; nephews, Barley Lenderman, Dennis Lenderman and wife Karon, and Ray Lenderman; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Rance Morris; best friend, Jerry Breazeale; and great-nephew, Justin Lenderman.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Lumpkin, Bill Lumpkin, Dennis Lenderman, Barley Lenderman, Ray Lenderman, Gary Jones, and Harvey Lee Dominy.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
