Kyle Wayne "Brutus" Grimes

Funeral services for Kyle Wayne “Brutus” Grimes, 55, of Corrigan will be held Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lesly Wilkinson and Kevin Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Grimes Cemetery in Beulah.

Kyle Wayne was born May 16, 1968 in Lufkin, Texas to Judy (Wilkins) and the late Freddy Lee Grimes, and died Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at his home in Corrigan.

Kyle Wayne served in the U.S. Army and was a welder. He was a man of many talents. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, and welding. But the thing that brought him the most joy was his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Marcie Mills; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Dylan Kirk; son, Chandler Shaw; grandchildren, Jacey, Linley and Kimber Kirk; mother, Judy Grimes; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Sharon Grimes, Bronson and Susan Grimes, and Kaylon Grimes; honorary sister, Suzette Fredricks; nieces, Kayla Grimes, Kelsey Grimes, Korie Alvis and husband Brandon, Emma Grimes, Abby Grimes, Kaylee Grimes, and Maddie Abshire; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Freddy Lee Grimes; nephew, Justin Ray Grimes; cousin, Kevin Burks; and

his best friend, Hank, the hog dog.

Pallbearers will be Paden Reed, Justin Fredricks, John Hooks, Chandler Shaw, Peter Burks, Brandon Alvis, Dylan Kirk, Kevin Griffin, Mark Torrez, S.K. Burks, Daren Stanley Burks, and Calvin Burks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pops Kennedy and Dewayne Burks.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the services.
