Funeral services for Kevin Frank Kelley, 56, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Bart Moyers officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Kevin was born February 3, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to Jacqueline and Willie Frank Kelley. He grew up in Ferris, Texas at the “Big House” and was the youngest of six children. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas in 1984 with a degree in communications. In 1986, Kevin married Glenda Dunn, and together they raised their two children, Nicholas and Lauren.
Throughout his life, Kevin was involved in many groups and organizations. From a news reporter at KLSB TV in Nacogdoches, to becoming a first degree black belt in ATA Taekwondo, Kevin did it all. He loved to fish, go to concerts and most importantly spend time with his family. Towards the end of his life, Kevin enjoyed announcing at halftime for the Lumberjack Marching Band at SFASU being named “The Purple Pipes”.
Throughout his battle with brain cancer, Kevin trusted the Lord’s plan for his life. His faith was the rock upon which his family stood throughout that storm. He was called home on the morning of October 31, 2017 at The Joseph House in Lufkin. He did not lose this battle because the battle has already been won through the grace of Jesus Christ. Kevin leaves behind a beautiful family that will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda (Dunn) Kelley of Lufkin; son, Nicholas Kelley and wife Natalie of Flint; daughter, Lauren Kelley of Webster; brothers, Mike Kelley and wife Beth of Carrollton, Pat Kelley and wife Karen of San Antonio, and Tim Kelley and wife Allison of Dallas; sisters, Kathy “Kat” Perry and husband Tony of The Colony and Lynn Kelley of Fort Worth; mother-in-law, Beverly Dunn of Lufkin; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Andrea Dunn of Friendswood and Tim Dunn of Austin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Michael Braun of Live Oak, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There are no words appropriate to provide a sufficient “Thank You” to our Joseph House Family and Hospice in the Pines. What a blessing they were to Kevin and our family during this difficult time.
