Kenneth W. "Pops" Massey, Sr.

Graveside services for Kenneth W. “Pops” Massey, Sr., 76, of Zavalla will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Tom Havard Cemetery with Brother Jackson Colwell and Brother W.M. “Bill” Massey officiating.

Mr. Massey was born December 25, 1940 in Livingston, Texas to the late Drucilla (Cameron) and Mack Massey. He died Thursday, June 15, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Massey had resided in Zavalla all his life. He retired from Temple Assoc. and Renfro Logging. Mr. Massey loved being around his family and working on his farm. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Rose Massey of Zavalla; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Brian Fountain of Colmesneil and Brenda and Frank Johnson of Huntington; sons and daughters-in-law, Jr. and Tammy Laroux of Zavalla, Ken and Kelley Massey, and Ron and Denise Massey, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Colton Atwood, Jalynn Fountain, Justin Fountain, Ashly Nelson, Dustin Massey, Tasha Murray, Corey Hines, Gracie Massey, Taylor Matchett, Dalton Massey, Brent Johnson, Hope Brock, and Brittany Swearingen; brothers and sister-in-law, Carol Massey of Zavalla, W.M. “Bill” and Marcia Massey of Colmesneil, and David and Wanda Massey of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Robert Lockhart of Tyler; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Drucilla and Mack Massey; grandson, Jason Wimberley; and sister-in-law, Wanda Sammon Massey.

Pallbearers will be Brent Johnson, Corey Hines, Dustin Massey, Dalton Massey, Andrew Matchett, and Justin Murray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Massey, Randal Massey, Clay Massey, Colton Atwood, Ryder Nelson, Trevin Nelson, and Adrian Gonzalez.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Huntington.
