Graveside services for Kenneth Alvin “Buster” Farley, 73, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery with Brother Clayton McClendon officiating.
Mr. Farley died Monday, May 21, 2018 in Lufkin, Texas with his family by his side. He was born June 21, 1944 in Galveston, Texas to Nola Jeanette Gentery. Early in life he moved to Apple Springs, Texas, then moved to Lufkin where he graduated from Angelina College and attended Stephen F. Austin State University.
Kenneth was an avid fisherman with friend David Morton, winning several trophies in bass tournaments, and an avid hunter with friend Fred Smith. In his earlier years he enjoyed gardening and playing pool.
Mr. Farley is survived by his sisters, Lenora and husband Toby Appleman, Barbara Unsell (special sister and caregiver), Brenda Themis, Paula and husband Andy Tucker; brothers, Robert and wife Teri Choate and Charles Buffington; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nola Jeanette Gentery; brother, Donnie Short; sisters, Glenda Johnson and Linda Whitt; brother-in-law, Charley Unsell; and his companion, Lillie Ramsey.
Pallbearers will be Jason Unsell, Jeremy Unsell, Toby Appleman, David Morton, Fred Smith and Freddy Bryan.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
