Kenneth Robert Carter

Kenneth Robert Carter, 86, of Lufkin died Sunday, May 4, 2025 in a local nursing home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Carter was born June 22, 1938 in Clinton, Illinois to the late Osie (Short) and Les Carter.

Kenneth retired from Temple Inland after many years of service as a Data Processor. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Kenneth enjoyed gardening and he loved his family and the time spent with them, especially his grandchildren. He brought happiness to anyone who met him.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Joyce Carter of Lufkin; son, Robert “Dale” Carter of Lufkin; daughter, Sheri Wilson and husband Kurt of Lufkin; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Carter and wife Shirley; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers, sisters, and extended family.
