On Tuesday, July 13, 2021 East Texas lost a good man. Keith Socia, 59, passed peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Keith was born November 29, 1961 in Center, Texas to Jimmy and Faye (Ramsey) Socia. He grew up one of five children and stories of their childhood always bring on the kind of laughter that makes your belly hurt. Keith met Vicki when he was 33 and told her he would never forget the day he saw her singing in church wearing “that” red dress knowing then he had to get to know her. Keith and Vicki spent the next 25 years growing a business, raising a family, and always looking for ways to positively impact their community through ministry and outreach. Keith especially loved his horses and the years he and Nathan spent riding, roping, and rodeoing. Keith was the kind of guy you wanted in your corner and knew you could depend on. He was selfless and put others first, both in business and in his personal life. He would share his personal testimony of redemption and how the Lord completely turned his life around with anyone who would listen (plenty who didn’t want to listen, too) and because of this led many to Christ while serving as an inspiration to the miracles of which the Lord is capable. Keith’s battle with cancer began in 2016, but the diagnosis did not slow him down. He took every opportunity he could to allow God to work a miracle in his life and trusted God’s plan every step of the way. When he realized recently the miracle wouldn’t be his own gift of life, he told Vicki “there is still a miracle that will happen because of this, you wait and see”.
