Funeral services for Keith Lamar Green of Lufkin will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Green was born September 30, 1942 in Nacogdoches, Texas, and passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the age of 82. He was a graduate of Chireno High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. He was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.
He spent his professional career as a Certified Public Accountant in private practice before venturing into Commercial Real Estate as a partner of GSV Properties. Later in his career, he remained actively involved in Residential Real Estate, where he found joy in helping families discover their perfect homes.
A lifelong devoted community member of Lufkin, he contributed his time and talents to various organizations. In his earlier years, he was active in the Lufkin Jaycee’s and spent many years volunteering with the Chamber of Commerce, where he particularly enjoyed participating in the Texas Forest Festival alongside his friend Jerry Huffman. Most recently, he served the City of Lufkin on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Throughout his life, Keith had a wide range of personal interests. As an avid reader, he stayed up late into the night immersed in literature, reading every book written by Stephen King as well as countless other authors. He once raised Registered Red Brahman cattle, enjoyed riding motorcycles with his Saturday morning breakfast friends, and spent the later part of his years traveling in his Foretravel motor home all over the country.
He cherished drinking coffee at Lone Star Charlies with friends. He deeply valued all his friendships, especially enjoying time with his lifelong friends over the years. He especially appreciated time spent with Abe Swan and RG Bowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar Green and Lerene (Halbert) Green of Nacogdoches, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna Green; son, Scott Green and Kara Kaemmerling of Lufkin, Texas; son, David Green and wife Kim of Houston, Texas; son, Kevin Green of Lufkin, Texas; grandchildren, Austin Green, Courtney Green, and Conner Green; mother of David and Kevin, Patsy Whipple of Lufkin; brother, Gary Green and wife Sharon of Hideaway Lake, Texas; brother, Dale Green and wife Michelle of Lufkin, Texas; sister, Sharon Green and John Herring of Montgomery, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Allan Riddle, Alan Poe, Johnny Futch, Jerry Huffman, Conner Green, and Austin Green.
The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to Affinity Hospice for the kind care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the charity of your choice.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the services.
