Katie Louise Pitman

Graveside services for Katie Louise Pitman, 71, of Diboll will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the Prairie Grove Cemetery with Pastor Paul Mettlen officiating.

Ms. Pitman was born December 2, 1945 in Diboll, Texas to the late Eunice (Courtney) and Joe Harris Mettlen, and died Monday, September 25, 2017 in a local hospice facility. She was a lifetime resident of Diboll and was a Nurses’ Aide. Ms. Pitman loved fishing, camping, and hunting arrowheads. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Vernon Swallows of Diboll; son, Tim Pitman of Diboll; grandson, Cody Swallows and wife Amber; great-grandsons, Noah Swallows and Thomas Swallows; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Elizabeth Miranda; sisters, Etta Jennings, Joyce Culver, Annabelle McCarty, JoAnne Mettlen and Virginia Norris; and brother, Cecil Mettlen.

Pallbearers will be Tim Pitman, Cody Swallows, Jimmy Fisher, and Freddy Hensley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Swallows and Rusty Skoug.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
