Kathy New

Funeral services for Kathy New, 67, of Lufkin will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. New was born February 1, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Marjorie (Anderson) and Jack Rodney Mayer, and died Sunday, November 20, 2022 in a local hospital.

Kathy was a lifelong resident of Lufkin. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose world was centered around caring for her family and her fur babies. She will be truly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Steve New of Lufkin; brother, Jack Mayer, Jr. and wife Judy; daughter, Lauren Kelley and fiancé Cliff Wheeland; son, Jamey New and wife Gaby; grandchildren, Marjorie Blaire Kelley, Hunter Austin New, Keegan Ryan New, Jackson Rafael New; her beloved fur babies, Lacey, Frenchie, Annie, Whitten, Louie and Walt; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Ralph and Kathleen New.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday morning prior to the services at the funeral home in Huntington.
