Kathleen Elizabeth Shelton

Graveside services for Kathleen Elizabeth Shelton, 67, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Reverend Mark A. Newton officiating.

Kathleen, born on October 17, 1957, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

A graduate of Lufkin High School (1975) and Stephen F. Austin State University (1978), Kathleen was a dedicated CPA who worked as an auditor for the State of Texas. She trusted in her Savior, Jesus Christ, modeling love, kindness and generosity to all she met. She cherished her many friends. She enjoyed watching classic movies, reading, listening to music, gardening, bird watching and animals of all kinds, especially the dogs she rescued throughout her life.

Kathleen is survived by her sister, Rebecca Shelton Chance and brother-in-law Jeff Chance; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Barrington Shelton, Jr., MD and Emily Barbee Shelton; and her sister, Emily Shelton Watts.

Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Allen, Jeff Chance, Will Chance, Logan Corley, The Honorable John Parrish, Mark Parrish, and Chip Watts, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Lufkin, 106 E. Bremond Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901 or The Winnie Berry Humane Society of Angelina County, 1102 N. John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
