Karon Weeks Sloan

Memorial services for Karon Weeks Sloan, 63, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home with Brother Charles Herrington officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the Carroway Family Reception Room.

Mrs. Sloan was born March 30, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Elizabeth (May) and Calvin Ernest Weeks, and died Monday, May 7, 2018 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Sloan was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. She had worked for Angelina Savings Bank and Lufkin Federal Credit Union. Her world revolved around shopping for Christmas, especially to make Christmas special for her grandchildren. She once flew to New York with Autumn to shop for her prom dress. Mrs. Sloan was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Sloan of Lufkin; daughters, Tiffany Stephens and husband Wade of Lufkin, and Selina Szafran of Willis; grandchildren, Summer, Autumn, Rayce, Skylar, Christian, Colin and Jese; brother, Wayne Weeks and wife April of Lufkin; sister, Gina Griffin and husband George of Baytown; father-in-law, J.W. Sloan and wife Nancy of Troup; nephews, Matthew and Jack; and a number of other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law, Lillian Sloan.
