Kari was born April 4, 1968, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to the late Roselen Todd Bobo and Larry Bobo, and she died Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in Cypress, Texas, after complications from surgery. She had resided in Lufkin for 20 years.
Kari graduated from Central Heights High School in 1986 and completed her nurses training at Angelina College shortly after. She married Jon Pennington on October 6, 2001, and he survives her. Kari was a Christian, and she was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.
Kari was adored by her husband and two sons. She was treasured by all her family and friends, and she was known for her kindness to others and her talent for cracking the best jokes, always with perfect delivery. Kari had a gift for making everyone smile.
Kari loved listening to George Strait and watching Bewitched. She had a special place in her heart for bumblebees, because before her mother passed away, she told Kari that after she got to heaven, she would send bees to keep Kari in line. Kari cherished her friends and coworkers from her early days living and working in Nacogdoches, as well as more recently in Lufkin at Woodland Heights Medical Center and Enhabit Home Health & Hospice.
