Karen Elaine Martin Barnsley

Funeral services for Karen Elaine Martin Barnsley, 79, of Huntington will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Pastor Dan Fritz officiating. Interment will follow in Huntington Oddfellows Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnsley was born February 2, 1946 in Snyder, Texas to the late Clara (Tribble) and Ross David Martin, and died Saturday, May 24, 2025 at her residence.

Mrs. Barnsley was a nurse for more than 30 years and had worked for Lufkin State Supported Living Center and Huntington Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She had a big heart, especially for her family. Mrs. Barnsley enjoyed soap operas, music of all kinds, and going to church. She was a firm believer in God and as a member of the Living Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon Barnsley of Huntington; children, Marty Evans of Huntington, Lynne Denise Blackledge of Covington, Louisiana, Charles Blackledge of Houston, Melissa McKinney of Huntington, and Toby Newton of Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Heather Harrison and husband Mitchell of Rockwall; grandchildren, Chance, Chase, Chiana, Clara, Bryan, Toby, Jr., Dillon, Delilah, Chloe, Maycee, Katie, and Dylan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, June Martin, Sybil Jones, Billie Martin, RC Martin, and Betty Courtney.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
