June Kirkland Billingsley

Funeral services for June Kirkland Billingsley, 78, of Pollok will be held Monday, November 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the O’Quinn Baptist Church with Brother Robert Forrest and Brother Keith Woolf officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Billingsley was born November 11, 1939 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Addie (Spain) and W.A. Kirkland, and died Friday, November 24, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Billingsley had resided in Lufkin most of her life. She was a secretary at FBC in Angleton, Wright Printing, Woodland Heights Medical Center, Puro Filters, and Physicians of East Texas. She taught school in Shonto, Arizona and worked at M.D. Anderson in Houston. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. Mrs. Billingsley played the organ at First Baptist Angleton and played the piano at O’Quinn Baptist Church and was a member of the Praise Team.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Billingsley of Pollok; sons, James Paul Sharp and wife Kim of Livingston and Adam Kirk Sharp and wife Toni of Lubbock; daughter, Amber Kae Sharp of Pollok; numerous grandchildren; brother, Ken Kirkland and wife Louise of Central; and numerous nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Dan Kenner, Pat Muckleroy, Tim Sprinkle, Jacob Sprinkle, John Brown, and Kirk Dunn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Wood, Dustin Holder, Willie Bryan, Collin McGraw, Audie Wood, and Chrystal Watkins.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon prior to the service at O’Quinn Baptist Church.
