Joyce Mayo

Graveside services for Joyce Mayo, 77, of Lufkin will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Chinquapin Cemetery in San Augustine with Brother Eddie Fancher officiating.

Mrs. Mayo was born September 7, 1947 in Houston, Texas to the late Ella (Dickerson) and Vernon Sanford, and died Monday, September 16, 2024 at her residence.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Raymon Mayo; daughters and son-in-law, Renà and Randy Burns, and Kay Hajsek; sons, Vernon Mayo and Ray Mayo; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Geraldine Sanford; and brothers, Vernon Sanford, Jr., Clyde Sanford, and Charles Sanford.

Pallbearers will be Ray Mayo, Vernon Mayo, Colton Burns, Randy Burns, Dalton Washington, and Drake Mayo.
