Joyce Reeder Martin

Visitation for Joyce Reeder Martin, 70, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Ashby Funeral Home Chapel in Benton, Arkansas with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Harmony Cemetery in Haskell, Arkansas.

Mrs. Martin was born March 19, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Sarah Elizabeth “Liz” (Barnes) and the late Charles Hugh Reeder, and passed peacefully Saturday, April 13, 2024 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Martin had resided in Huntington for 20 years. She was a Physical Therapist Assistant for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, craft work, stained glass, gardening, and baking, but her passion was her grandchildren. Mrs. Martin loved listening to and playing music, including piano and organ and singing in the choir at her church. She was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church and the Cool Chicks in Christ Bible Study Group. Mrs. Martin participated yearly in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Bennie Martin of Huntington; daughters and son-in-law, Amber and Chad Gailey of Cypress and April Martin of Lufkin; grandchildren, Greyson, Grant, and Ainsley Gailey, and Mikayla Spillman; mother, Sarah “Liz” Reeder of Bryant, Arkansas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dr. Joan and Pat Ramsay of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Judy and Jim Wright of Bryant, Arkansas; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Laurie Martin and Stephen Martin, all of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Reeder; and niece, Jessica Kyle.

Pallbearers will be Ben Martin, Tom Martin, Justin Kyle, Shane Powell, David Perry, and Eric Bowers.
