Graveside services for Joyce Modisette Ainsworth, 89, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery with Brother Ronnie Frankens officiating.
Mrs. Ainsworth was born January 2, 1936 in Lufkin to the late Clara (Allen) and James Alvie Modisette, and died Sunday, April 20, 2025 in Lufkin.
Joyce loved taking care of her family and especially cooking for them. She was known for making the best yeast rolls around. She found great joy in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing out in the yard. Joyce was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Darrell Roberts of Diboll; grandchildren, Darrell “Robby” Roberts, Jr., Brandi Simons and husband Kristopher, all of Diboll, Thomas “Trey” Ainsworth III, Clay Ainsworth, both of Lufkin; Patricia Thompson and husband Steven of Tyler, Leah Ainsworth, Austin Ainsworth, both of Nacogdoches; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; special nephew, Bart Riley of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Betty Riley of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Travis Ainsworth and wife Johnnie of Lufkin; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Ainsworth, Sr.; son, Thomas Ray “Tommy” Ainsworth, Jr.; twin brother, Royce “Tadpole” Modisette; brothers, Darwin Modisette, Reggie Modisette; and sister, Robbie Mann.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bart Riley, Darrell Roberts, Jr., Clay Ainsworth, Trey Ainsworth, Hunter Ainsworth, Kagen Ainsworth, Tristan Roberts, Austin Ainsworth, and Trenton Simons.
