Joseph Arthur Oliver

Funeral services for Joseph Arthur Oliver, 62, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother John Boone, Brother Randy Ensey, and Brother Gary Oliver officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosevine Cemetery in Sabine County.

Mr. Oliver was born August 1, 1961 in Kountze, Texas to Sarah Ola (Sims) and Doyle Arthur Oliver, and passed Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in a local hospital.

Joseph spent his early childhood in Silsbee, Texas, where he loved riding horses and playing with his dog, Rusty. His family moved to Lufkin when he was 12. He started working alongside his Pawpaw and Dad at the age of 14 learning the trade of plumbing, and he later went on to getting his master plumbing license. He worked for years at his father’s company, Oliver Plumbing, which he later took over with his brother Mark.

He married the love of his life Pamela Kay (Barrow) on March 21, 1981, and 17 years later they had their only daughter Anna Alese. His hobbies were hunting, water skiing with his family and friends, and making knives. Joseph was a true family man, he enjoyed any time he got to spend with his family. He especially loved spending time with his two grandsons, Lincoln and Eli.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Kay (Barrow) Oliver; daughter, Anna Oliver and husband Cristian; grandchildren, Lincoln and Eli; father, Doyle Oliver and wife Karen; sister, Jackie Cox and husband Marvin; brother, Mark Oliver and wife Donna; and nieces and nephews, along with a number of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Oliver.

Pallbearers will be Kale Cox, Brady Cox, Jacob Oliver, Harold Blythe, Travis Blythe, and Tyson Blythe.

Honorary pallbearer will be Sam Barrow.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of your choice.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
