Funeral services for Joseph Lee “Joey” Holeman, 45, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Promise Land Baptist Church with Brother Myrton Thompson and Brother Trey Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Joey was born January 8, 1980 in Houston, Texas, and went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 14, 2025. He was employed at Walmart as a stocker.
Joey loved his nephews and spending as much time as possible with them, whether it be swimming or playing football and games. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and he liked to fish. Joey was a hugger. He loved to give hugs, and everyone stated he gave some of the best hugs. He was a good person with a big heart. If he could help someone, he always tried his best to. It might not always be right, but he tried. Joey loved the Lord.
He is survived by his parents, Dianne (Parish) and Kurt Ulmer; brother, Jamie Holeman; sister, Forest Holeman; nephews, Michael Holeman and Hunter Holeman; uncles and aunts, Butch and Charlotte Parish, Gina and Jimbo Wright, Ollie and Richard Ware, James and Kathryn Parish, Bobby Lee, Manfred and Lou Ann Ulmer, and Kathy Parish; partner, Sarah DeFratus; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bo and Ada Lee; and uncle, Joe Parish.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Lee, Chase Parish, Sam Whitton, Jason Schnake, James Holeman, Billy Haas, and Shane Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Parish, Michael Holeman, and Hunter Holeman.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
