Jose Rodrigo "Peepa" Perez, Sr.

Mass for Jose Rodrigo “Peepa” Perez, Sr., 66, of Diboll will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Fr. Luis Fernando Arroyave officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Perez was born March 13, 1952 in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Maria DeLaLuz (DeLaRosa) and Juan T. Perez, and died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in a Houston hospital.

Mr. Perez was a longtime resident of Diboll. He retired from Temple-Inland (now Georgia-Pacific) following more than 20 years of employment. Mr. Perez was a hard worker and was the neighborhood “Peepa”. He loved to joke, pitch horseshoes, watch Texas Rangers baseball games, and attend family gatherings. His favorite thing was spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Perez was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Josefina (Escobedo) Perez of Diboll; daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Josefina Perez and Darrin Oliphant, Patricia and Rojelio Chagolla, all of Diboll; son, Jose Rodrigo Perez, Jr. and fiancée Hilda DeLuna of Diboll; grandchildren, Carlos Oliphant, Darrion Oliphant, Zayda Perez, Evie Oliphant, Kaylee Chagolla, Kinzee Chagolla, Kelina “Panchita” Chagolla, Joziah Perez, and all of the Ranchito kids, all of Diboll; mother, Maria DeLaLuz (DeLaRosa) Perez of McAllen; brother and sister-in-law, Jacinto and Juanita Perez of Lufkin; sisters and brother-in-law, Maria Esther Garcia of McAllen, Maria and Espinoza DeJesus of Mission; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Juan T. Perez.

Pallbearers will be Jose Perez, Jr., Rojelio Chagolla, Darrin Oliphant, Elias Luna, Jacinto Perez, Jr., and Angel Reyes.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
