Johnny Morris Blackstock

Funeral services for Johnny Morris Blackstock, 84, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating.

Mr. Blackstock was born July 30, 1933 in Shelbyville, Texas to the late Ila (Alexander) and Frank Cooper Blackstock, and died Thursday, September 28, 2017 in a local nursing home.

Mr. Blackstock resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy and operated an electronics business for many years. He worked on everything, rebuilt electronics, and built boats and houses. Mr. Blackstock loved to fish and ride motorcycles. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and special friend, Patricia Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie Ray (Davis) Blackstock; son, John Cory Blackstock; and daughter, Stephanie Gail Blackstock.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Bailey, Jr., Richard Benoit, Shawn Benoit, Darrell Helmacy, Michael Odoms, and Quinton Perkins.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
