John Connie Luna

Funeral services for John Connie Luna, 73, of Nacogdoches will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brandon Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Fielder Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Luna was born January 5, 1949 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Faustina (Ramos) and E.L. Luna, and died Sunday, September 11, 2022 in Kenedy, Texas.

Mr. Luna resided in Nacogdoches most of his life. He was an electrician and owned and operated John Luna Electric Company for many years. He was lovingly known by his grandchildren as Pop or Prince Pop. Mr. Luna was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Catheryn Luna of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie “Lulu” and Cody Hamilton of Lufkin, and Jodie and Brandon Golden of Silsbee; son-in-law, Micheal Nerren of Lufkin; grandchildren, Cody Luna, Kaley Linton, Dakota Linton, Ryley Luna, Skylar Luna, Sydney Luna, Jacob Hamilton, Jillian Hamilton, Journey Hamilton, McKenzie Golden, Caitlynn Golden, Kennedy Golden, and Carrington Golden; seven great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Jo Teer of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Judy Luna of Nacogdoches; sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Dr. Taylor McKewen of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lynn (Hopson) Luna; daughter, Angie Luna Nerren; and sister, Mary Ann Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Cody Hamilton, Cody Luna, Jacob Hamilton, Scott Jackson, and Dakota Linton.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
