John Richard Havard

Graveside services for John Richard Havard, 78, of Lufkin will be held Monday, September 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Havard was born September 3, 1944 in Lufkin to the late Elsie (Kelly) and Preston Havard, and died Friday, September 9, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Havard was the President and Chief Executive Officer for the Boys & Girls Club of Houston for 33 years. He was the President of the Men’s Golf Association of Crown Colony for three years.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jollyene Hanry Havard of Lufkin; daughter, Amy Havard of Lufkin; sister, Molly Goodwin of Corpus Christi; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Kent and Lisa Havard of  Diboll and Johnny and Carla McShan of Huntington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty Minton, Beth Havard; and brother, Charles Havard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, 815 Crosby Street, Houston, Texas 77019.
