John Arvil Craven

John Arvil Craven, 81, of Diboll died Friday, December 6, 2024 in his residence. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

John was born March 4, 1943 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to the late Vernon A. Craven and Mamie Frances (Turner).

John was an Economist and worked for the USDA in Washington D.C. for over 30 years. Upon retirement John moved back to Texas, residing in Diboll since 2006. John served in the U.S. Navy. He was a hard worker, completing three degrees upon his return from the Navy to take care of the family ranch. John had a big heart and tried to keep in touch with as many people as he could. He still kept in regular contact with everyone from family to old classmates.

Survivors include his sister, Vernell Fesperman; brother-in-law, Gerry D. Fesperman; nieces, Dana (Jack) Lyn Salter, and Leigh Ann Reimer; and great-nieces, Ashley Reimer and Alison Reimer.

Inurnment will take place at a later time at Houston National Cemetery.
