Memorial services for Jo Ann McGough, 67, of Huntington, will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ with Pastor Cary Modisett, Brother David Holland, Jr. and Brother Jacob Smith officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Jo Ann McGough was born August 10, 1958 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Naomi (Jones) and E.W. Ellington. She passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home.

She resided in the Huntington area for most of her life and worked at Joc Stop and New Way for a combined 15 plus years as a manager. Jo Ann was a loving woman who was known as “Nana” by many. After retirement, she loved to relax and live life to its fullest. Her favorite pastime was spending time and making lifelong memories with her family and grandchildren. She was also over the moon to be a new great-grandmother. She was a member of Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Holland and husband David of Huntington; son, Anthony Willis of Huntington; grandchildren, Morgan Saravia and husband Christian, Alyssa Smith and husband Jacob, Jacob Willis, and Braydon Willis; her first great-grandchild, making an appearance in May; sister, Barbara Phelps; sister and brother-in-law, Donna Johnson and husband Roy; sister and brother-in-law, Susan Nerren and husband Joe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie McGough; her brother, Robert Ellington; and sister-in-law, Donna Ellington.
