October 1, 1942 — May 4, 2026

Lufkin, TX

Funeral services for Jimmy Earl Youngblood, 83, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Youngblood and Kelly Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Fielder Memorial Cemetery.

Jimmy Earl Youngblood passed away peacefully with family at his side May 4, 2026 at The Joseph House. He was born October 1, 1942, in Zavalla, Texas, to Lela Bell (Bridges) Youngblood and Thomas Clarence Youngblood. He spent his early years in Zavalla and then Rocky Springs before moving to Lufkin during grade school, where he built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.

From a young age, Jimmy, along with his parents and siblings, attended Oak Grove Assembly of God Church while living in Rocky Springs, often traveling by wagon to attend services. The church remained a cornerstone throughout his life and was where he later raised his own family.

In 1963, while working as a delivery driver for Holland Sales Company, Jimmy was introduced to Gloria through a mutual friend. She soon became the love of his life, and they were married April 3, 1964, at Schwab City Baptist Church. Together they shared 62 years of marriage and built a strong, loving family, raising their three children in Lufkin.

Jimmy was known for his skill as a master craftsman and woodworker. He operated a home remodeling business for over 40 years while also dedicating 35 years of service to Lufkin Industries. His work reflected not only his talent, but also his pride in providing for his family and helping others.

More than anything, Jimmy cherished time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed gatherings filled with good food, laughter, and fellowship, creating lasting memories with those he loved. One of his favorite pastimes was making homemade ice cream for everyone to enjoy - never letting a single drop go to waste.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Gloria Youngblood; his children, Tim Youngblood, Teresa Waterman (Gary Waterman), and Tara Johnson (Shane Johnson); his grandchildren, Brandon Smith (Brittany Smith), Aaron Youngblood (Destiny Youngblood), Haley Johnson, and Ryan Johnson; his great-grandchildren, Serenity Smith, Lillie Smith, Brantley Smith, Cooper Smith, and Remington Youngblood; his sisters, Delma Willis, Jennie Prosper (twin sister), and Shirley Morris; sister-in-law, Audrey Youngblood; brothers-in-law, Arnold Oliver (Barbara Oliver), and Ricky Oliver (Mary Oliver); as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Clarence Youngblood and Lela Youngblood; his brothers, Clarence Allen Youngblood, James Youngblood, Clint Youngblood, and Leo Youngblood; along with numerous other family members.

Jimmy will be remembered for his steady faith, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he built. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Pallbearers will be Trystain Conner, Ryan Johnson, Shane Johnson, Gaylon Oliver, Brandon Smith, Aaron Youngblood, Glenn Youngblood, Sr., and James Allen Youngblood
