Graveside services for Jimmy Nelson Horton, 80, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Whitehouse Cemetery with Brother Todd Core officiating.
Mr. Horton was born April 24, 1937 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Edith Mae (Gibson) and B.F. Horton, and died Friday, September 8, 2017 in Livingston.
Mr. Horton resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Lufkin Industries. Mr. Horton was the local representative of the AFL-CIO. He loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Horton was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, John and Terri Horton of Livingston and Jimbo Shirley of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Edith Horton and Ronald Donoghue of Lufkin; grandchildren, Samantha Horton, Justin Horton, and Kenneth Bradberry and wife Danielle; great-grandchildren, Sommer Bradberry, Kaytlin Bradberry, and Emily Bradberry; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Joyce Horton of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Topsey Horton of Livingston; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth Ann (Skinner) Horton; brother, Frank Horton; and sister, LaRue Crawford.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
