Funeral services for Jimmy Louis Allison, 92, of Lufkin will be held Monday, October 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Cindy Doran and Reverend Daniel Rigsby officiating. Graveside services with military honors, and under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. will follow in Gann Cemetery.

Jimmy was born June 29, 1933 in Clawson, Texas to James Watts Allison and Gordie Anderson Allison, and passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 in Lufkin, Texas.

Jimmy graduated from Central High School in 1952 and attended Tyler Jr. College. He served in the United States Air Force from May 1953 to April 1957. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He then served in the US Air Force Reserve. In March 1959 he signed up in the United States Navy and served until 1963. While in the Navy he served two of those years on the USS Forrestal and two years in Japan. After his military service, he began working as an electrician at Evadale Paper Mill. He later returned to Lufkin where he worked for a little over thirty years as an electrician at the Southland Paper Mill, later known as Champion Paper Mill.

Jimmy’s service to the Masonic Bodies of Texas was extensive. He served as a member and Past Master of Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F & A.M. He presided over or was an active member in numerous appendant Masonic Bodies including Lufkin Chapter #240 of Royal Arch Masons, Lufkin Council #176 of Royal and Select Masters, Pineywoods Commandery #88 of Knights Templar, Red Cross of Constantine Ascension Conclave, East Texas York Rite College #140, KYCH Texas Priory #23, HRALTP Resurrection Tabernacle No. SSI, Star Chamber/Council AMD, Henderson Lodge of Perfection No. 1, General Sam Houston Chapel of the Commemorative Order of St. Thomas of Acon, Veritas Council No. 59 Knight Masons, Sharon Shriners, Past Patron of the Eastern Star, and 33 Degree Sovereign Grand Inspector General Honorary of the Scottish Rite.

Jimmy’s awards of recognition included being the recipient of the Golden Trowel, Order of the Purple Cross, and Knight Templar Cross of Honor.

Jimmy was a skilled wood carver and enjoyed turning out beautiful walking canes and staffs. He enjoyed Western movies and Louis L'Amour books. Jimmy was an active member of Keltys United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sadie Williford Allison; sisters-in-law, Laura Williford Allison, Peggy Hite Williford; nephews, Danny Ray Allison and wife Pam, David Williford and wife Judy, Scott Williford and wife Crystal, Donnis Dunn; nieces, Laura Beth Broughton and husband Scott, Rhaeanne Madden and husband Jerry, Denise Brock and husband Ricky, Sharon Kay Modisette and husband Richard; and numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Allison; sisters, Lois Stanley, Velda Dunn, Bette Allison; and brother-in-law, Lester “Bo” Williford.

Pallbearers will be Danny Allison, Scott Broughton, Jerry Madden, David Williford, Scott Williford, Ricky Brock, Richard Modisette, and Donnis Dunn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Fuller, Hal Greer, Ronnie Wilson, and the members of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Keltys UMC, P.O. Box 3354, Lufkin, Texas 75903.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
