Funeral services for Jim Morris Shofner, 65, of Huntington will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Jackson Colwell, Brother Lamar Denby, and Cliff Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Shofner Cemetery.
Mr. Shofner was born December 24, 1952 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Annaline (Berry) and Charles Calvin Shofner, Sr., and died Monday, October 1, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Shofner had resided in Huntington most of his life and graduated from Huntington High School with the class of ‘71. He was a member of the Alpha Tau fraternity of Angelina College from 1971-1973. He was self-employed as a Logging Contractor. Jim was an avid Texas Hold ’em player. He was an eccentric and unique character, who lived life to the fullest. Most of all, he loved his “girls”.
Survivors include his daughters, Chelsea Shofner Williams and husband Timothy of Broaddus and Chloe Shofner Ice of Huntington; grandchildren, Jasper Adams and Jaxon Williams; brother, Charles Shofner, Jr. of Jasper; former wife and mother of Chelsea and Chloe, Bambi Shofner of Huntington; special cousin, Linda Berry Thomas of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Clark Shofner, Clint Shofner, Ben Shofner, Cooper Shofner, Jacob Shofner, Chad Shofner, Timothy Williams, and Blaze Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Roberts, Ron Husband, Mike Arnold, Malcolm Arnold, and Jay Brandenburg.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin.
