Jim Brasse

Memorial services for James “Jim” Brasse, 86, of Lufkin will be held Monday, June 10, 2024.  The family will welcome friends and loved ones at 10:00 a.m. with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Joby Thomas officiating.

Mr. Brasse was born November 12, 1937, in Houston, Texas to the late Martha Josephine (Schobel) and Harry Ernest Brasse, and passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024. He retired as President from Sabine Investment Inc., a division of Temple-Inland after successful careers at Goulds Pumps, as a commercial real estate broker and owner of a wholesale barbeque business.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Smaistrla) Brasse of Lufkin; and daughters, Michelle, Nanette and Alicia; grandchildren, Anthony, Ryan, Jonathan, Blake, Natalie, Preston and Grayson; and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Lillian Lampert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Winnie Berry Humane Society of Angelina County, 1102 N. John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904, or Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home with a private interment in Houston to follow at a later date.
