Jesus Mario Cuevas

Mass of Christian Burial for Jesus Mario Cuevas, 42, of Corrigan will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Corrigan with Fr. Tarsisius Puling SVD officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Jesus was born December 29, 1974 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Rafael Cuevas and Maria Bertha (Torres) Cuevas. He went home to be with our Lord Friday, October 20, 2017 in Port Arthur, Texas.

Jesus enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His sport was football. He loved the 49ers and of course the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs. He was a true-blue fan. Jesus’ hobbies were turning cars into hot rods and lowering trucks. Being a mechanic was his passion. The louder and faster, the better.

Jesus had a very loving and giving heart. He would drop anything and everything to aid in helping others, never asking for anything in return. Jesus never made you feel obligated or have the need to repay. The warmest hug was payment enough. He was truly loved and will be missed by all. Rest in peace, you earned it.

Survivors, all from Corrigan, include his wife, Joann (Langston) Cuevas; daughter, Kristin Taylor Cuevas; sons, Tristin Alexander Cuevas and Jesus Antonio “Tony” Cuevas; parents, Rafael and Maria Bertha Cuevas; brothers, Juan Rafael Cuevas and wife Veronica, Oscar Cuevas and wife Anna, and Arnulfo Cuevas; sister, Nora Cuevas Pullin and husband Michael; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eliza Martinez, Hilario Torres, Juana Briones, and Refugio Cuevas.

Pallbearers will be Tristan Cuevas, Juan Cuevas, Sr., Oscar Cuevas, Sr., Arnulfo “Nufo” Cuevas, Sr., Oscar Cuevas, Jr., Juan Cuevas, Jr., Arnulfo “Nufie” Cuevas, Jr., Alex Cuevas, Michael Pullin, Colby Moreland, and Wesley Moreland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Cuevas, Ethan Pullin, Evan Pullin, Hayden Moreland, Jace Moreland, Luke Moreland, Dustin Langston, Devin Montez, and Ryan Montez.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.
