Funeral services for Jesse James Moody, Jr., 81, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Buster Grigg officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Attoyac Cemetery in San Augustine County.
Mr. Moody was born February 10, 1941 in Center, Texas to the late Josie Winona (Weaver) and Jesse James Moody, Sr., and died Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Corrigan.
Mr. Moody was the Head Chemist at the Lufkin Paper Mill retiring after 37 years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Moody attended Denman Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Sammy J. DeVillier of Lufkin, Jesse and Kristie Moody of Apple Springs, Randy Moody of Huntington; daughter, Susan S. Stanford of Lufkin; son, Mason Moody and wife Misty of Corrigan; daughter, Charlotte Iczkowski of Lufkin; grandchildren, James Trentham and wife Tiffany, Kara Mathis and husband Jimmy, Trey Stanford, Madison Moody, Daniel Stanford, Matthew Moody and fiancée Alaina Lawson, Zach Moody, Krysten Moody, Emma Moody, Claire Moody, Brandon Moody, Bailey Moody; great-grandchildren, Max Moody, Ethan Trentham, Emily Trentham, Isaac Trentham, Seth Mathis, Swayde Moody; sister, Mary Anne Thompkins and husband Jimmy of Hemphill; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Loretta Moody.
Pallbearers will be James Trentham, James Ethan Trentham, Trey Stanford, Daniel Stanford, Jacob Jones, and Matthew Moody.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
