Funeral services for Jerry Tom Smith, 62, of Pollok will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Wells.

Jerry Tom was born January 16, 1957 in Lufkin, Texas to Mary (Murrietta) and the late Billy Tom Smith, and died Monday, May 13, 2019 in a hospital in Bryan.

Jerry Tom resided in Pollok most of his life. He was a Supervisor for Timberline Construction, where he enjoyed a lengthy career. Jerry loved the outdoors, spending his time hunting and fishing with long walks in the woods with his side kick, Hannah. He also enjoyed tinkering on cars in his workshop. Jerry Tom was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna Smith of Pollok and her children; Kenny Modisette and wife Michelle, Ashley Smith and Michael McLin, and Michael Smith and wife Shay, all of Pollok; grandchildren, Sabra Modisette, Bailey Rowell, Raven Modisette, Haygan Smith, Huntly Smith, Haylee Smith, and Harper Smith; mother, Mary Smith Groze of Lufkin; sisters, Cynthia Smith and Kathy Williams and husband Mark, all of Lufkin; brothers, Dennis Smith and wife Michelle of Orland, Maine and Billy Wayne Smith of The Woodlands; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends; and his loyal pet and companion, Hannah.

He was preceded in death by his father; and paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Vera Smith.

Pallbearers are Kenny Modisette, Mitchell Carlin, Michael Smith, and Jeff Vinson.

Honorary pallbearers are Lewis Smith, Gene Havard, and Doug Hamilton.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home.
