Jerry Edward Gibson

September 10, 1941 — September 3, 2025

Huntington, TX

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7

Funeral services for Jerry Edward Gibson, 83, of Huntington will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at New Life United Pentecostal Church in Huntington with Brother Steve Sanders and Brother Greg Koon officiating. Interment will follow in Homer Cemetery.

Jerry Gibson, AKA “Yankee”, was born September 10, 1941 in Coldwater, Michigan. He was the youngest son and the 11th child of 13 children. Jerry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Jerry was of the opinion that he wasn’t born in Texas but he got here as soon as he could. Jerry believed God had ordered his steps to be here.

Jerry was a master craftsman building homes, pole barns, horse barns, swimming pools in ground, etc. He worked mostly alone doing a turn key job from the ground up. However Jerry’s favorite jobs were working on his Heavenly mansion by sending up timber one prayer at a time. He loved his Lord and Savior as well as his Pastor and church family very much. Always a faithful, giving, loving and humble man, willing to help anyone. Jerry dearly loved his family; taking an active role in teaching them about Jesus and His love. Jerry, we will miss you tremendously. You left a big hole in our hearts with big shoes to try to follow. Thank you for loving us and giving so unselfishly to us. We know you are now in the land of the living. Therefore we cannot say we have lost you because you “CAN NOT” lose someone when you know where they are. Great will be your reward in Heaven.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Angela of Huntington; son, Troy and Carol of Michigan; daughter, Skeeter and Billy of Kansas; granddaughters, Amber and Daniel, Lexi and Isaac, all of Michigan; Calesta and Kyle, Hannah, and Naomi, all of Kansas; grandsons, Chris and Ella, Caleb and Elizabeth, Colby and Kathy, and Zacary, all of Kansas; nine great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Special thanks to Harbor Hospice for your love and care for Jerry.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Varnado, Aaron Hoke, Darron Hoke, Billy Nash, John Weeks, and Jamie Marino.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. Don Linkinhoker, Bro. Sonny Ashby, Bro. David Ashby, Bro. Mike Doss, Bro. Larry Green, and Bro. Scotty Cosby.
