Graveside services for Jerry Donald Dacus, 81, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Kaice Farhat officiating.
Mr. Dacus was born January 12, 1944 in Hillsboro, Texas to the late Ruth Camilla (Swillings) and Alton Eugene Dacus, and died Sunday, June 15, 2025 in a Longview hospital.
Jerry was a Port Engineer and worked in the marine business for 37 years, travelling all over the world. He loved his job but was the happiest when he was home. He was a family man in every sense of the word. He loved his wife, Judi, more than life itself. He cherished his daughter, Darlene, and son-in-law, Bobby so much. He was so proud of Darlene. She did so much during his time of need and he always said she was such a “good girl” - “baby girl”. He loved his two dogs, Candy and Chloe. Jerry was a big fan of UT football and he was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Judith “Judi” Dacus; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Bobby Scott; sister-in-law, Cheryl Lund; cousin-in-law, Annette Ardoin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Dacus, Joe Dacus; sister, Linda Lanning; parents-in-law, Milton and Irene Dyer; and sister-in-law, Glenda Green.
