Jerry Clowers

Funeral services for Jerry Clowers, 78, of Zavalla will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ with Brother Cary Modisett and Brother Ron Fant officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.

Mr. Clowers was born January 16, 1948 in Woodville, Texas to the late Twillie Mae (Williams) and Johnny Clowers, and died Sunday, April 19, 2026 in a local hospice facility.

Jerry was a logger and resided in Zavalla for more than 45 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved his church, his family, and spending time outdoors going fishing and hunting. Jerry was a faithful member of Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel Clowers of Zavalla; daughter, Sheila Aronow of Austin; sons, Jerry Clifton Clowers and wife Amanda of Colmesniel, John Jacob Clowers and wife Ashlei of Zavalla; grandchildren, Ashley Briseno and husband Dustin, Spencer Aronow, Derek Aronow, Lauren Cupp, Tristen Rios, Aila Clowers, Maximus Clowers, Rowdy Clowers, Gideon Clowers, Donovan Clowers, Parker Clowers; great-grandchildren, Bentley Fuller, Asher Briseno; brothers, Gene Clowers of Zavalla, Johnny Clowers of San Antonio, Steve Clowers and wife Kendra, Davy Lee Clowers, Raymond Clowers and wife Katrina, all of Zavalla; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jimmy Clowers.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon prior to the service at the church.
