Jeremy Scott Atkinson

Funeral services for Jeremy Scott Atkinson, 44, of Pollok will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Paul Gates officiating. Interment will follow in the Pollok Cemetery.

Jeremy was born March 22, 1979 in Lufkin, Texas to Debbie Jean (Rector) and Nathan Atkinson, and died Sunday, March 26, 2023 in Pollok.

Jeremy was a 1997 Central High School graduate and earned his Diesel Technology Certification from Angelina College. He had been a diesel mechanic for 20 years. His work passion was mechanicing on forestry heavy equipment, skidders, and feller bunchers. He was a hunter and fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors. He loved his family, especially adored his grandchildren, and his dog and companion, “Baby”.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Tessa (Allen) Atkinson; daughters, Baylee Atkinson and fiancé, Alan Lankford, Haylee Spurgeon and husband J.D., Autumn Atkinson; grandsons, Peyton Lankford, Huxley Lankford, Kinler Atkinson; granddaughter, Harper Spurgeon; mother and stepfather, Debbie and Gary White; sister, Jennifer Langley; brother, Ricky White; nieces, Kellie Jo Langley and Kristin Langley; father-in-law, Randy Allen; stepfather-in-law, William O’Dell; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan “Buddy” Atkinson; grandparents, Barbara and Charles Rector; uncles, Sidney Rector and Robert Rector; and mother-in-law, Rhonda Allen.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Champ Rector, Schuyler Rector, Migel Torres, Travis Goins, J.D. Spurgeon, and Alan Lankford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy “J.V.” Varnado.

In lieu of flowers, contributions toward funeral expenses may be paid to Carroway Funeral Home.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
