Jeff Davis

July 20, 1961 — April 27, 2026

Lufkin, TX

Jeff Davis, 64, of Lufkin died Monday, April 27, 2026 in Lufkin. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis was born July 20, 1961 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Janet (Williams) and Robert Mitchell Davis.

Jeffrey Davis was a man who found joy in life’s simple blessings and in the beauty of the world around him. All he needed in life was a good farm pond, fishing pole, and H&H Chartreuse green bait. He loved the outdoors in every form; fishing, hunting, mowing the yard, or simply sitting on the porch watching the rain. Jeffrey appreciated God’s creation and took the time to enjoy the peace and wonder found in everyday moments.

Christmas held a special place in his heart. His wife lovingly called him the "Christmas king", a title he wore proudly. Each year he kept a playlist of favorite songs, sharing one daily to spread the joy of the season. Polar Express was his favorite Christmas movie, and he made it his mission to stamp out the scrooges of the world and bring a little magic into the lives of others. Jeffrey also loved music year-round, especially rock and roll, and enjoyed attending concerts by bands such as Def Leppard, KISS, and Lynyrd Skynyrd; often seeing them more than once. During his courageous fight with cancer, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra even sent him a personalized video of encouragement.

After serving four years in the United States Navy, Jeffrey carried great pride in his military service. He later dedicated around 20 years to the Charles Wilson VA Outpatient Clinic as a Patient Advocate and Medical Administrative Officer before retiring. Above all, he loved his wife, Marilyn, deeply through 24 years of marriage. For every special occasion, he added a charm to her bracelet, creating a collection of treasured memories they shared together. There is much that could be said about Jeffrey, but words can only capture so much. His actions spoke louder, and that is how he will be remembered.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Jones) Davis of Lufkin; stepdaughter, Amy Murray of Lufkin; stepson, Kyle Murray and wife Lori of Lufkin; grandchildren, Gavin Havard, Devyn Murray, Madisyn Murray, and Presley, Emme, Asher and Peyton Boynton; great-grandson, Creed Boynton; sister, Sheri Hopkins of Fort Worth; brother, Michael Davis of Colorado; nephews and nieces, Zach Hopkins, Marcy, Callie and Gracie, Lindley Mitchell, Justin and Sasha, Mary Kathleen Bolton, Birdie and Ransom, Justin Jones, Casey and Mason, Chelsea Lindsey, Garrett, Memphis and Journie; mother-in-law, Bobbie Jones; and brother-in-law, Kelvin Jones and wife Lesia.
