Jearl D. "Buck" Morgan

Funeral services for Jearl D. “Buck” Morgan, 76, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimmy Arnold and Brother Ronnie Gladden officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.           Mr. Morgan was born January 31, 1941 in Lovelady, Texas to the late Modell Elaine (Douglas) and Robert Cleo Morgan, and died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his residence.           Mr. Morgan had resided in the East Texas area all his life and was a home builder for many years. He loved music and played the steel guitar. He played with different groups over the years and enjoyed playing with his friends.           Survivors include his wife, Virginia Morgan of Lufkin; children, Cliffton Dene Morgan and wife Patty of Lufkin, Steven Jearl Morgan and wife Sherry of Grapeland, Patricia Chapman and husband Howard of Trout, Louisiana, Paul Byron Morgan and wife Sherry of Kennard, Mark Allen Morgan and wife Paula of New Caney, and Scott Morgan and wife Tiffany of Spring; extended family that called him dad, Douglas Whitmire and wife Lois of Madisonville, Lisa Ann Allen and husband Ricky of Tennessee Colony, Gene Owens and wife Toni of Oakdale, Theresa Rhoads and husband Jeff, and Dan Owens, all of New Caney; 37 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Morgan and wife Jeanette of Kennard; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.           He was preceded in death by his parents.           Pallbearers will be Hank Waggonner, Mikey LaReau, Runt Brewster, James House, Bryan Harkness, and Dewayne Whitmire.           Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Watson.           The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.           Memories and condolences may be added, and live webcasting of the services may be viewed at www.carrowayfuneralhome.com.                    Carroway Funeral Home, Lufkin, directors.
