Funeral services for Jeanette C. Brittain, 72, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in Ryan Chapel Cemetery in Diboll.
Mrs. Brittain was born January 9, 1947 in Corrigan, Texas, the daughter of the late Gleno (Cook) and Homer Bishop Crain. She died Sunday, April 7, 2019 in a Lufkin hospice facility.
Mrs. Brittain had operated Jan’s Ceramics for more than 10 years and was also a retired Hallmark distributor. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Brittain loved to paint, loved to fish, and loved her dogs. She had lived in Lufkin for more than 43 years.
Survivors include husband of 43 years, John Brittain of Lufkin; sons, Calup Shepherd and wife Stephanie of Pearland, Michael Shepherd of Lufkin, Brad Shepherd of Corrigan, and Tim Shepherd and wife Johnna of Beaumont; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Teresa Ann Morton; and a brother, James Robert Crain.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Casper, Lee Johnson, Jason White, Jerry Meece, and Dobber Bass.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
