Funeral services for Jannette Birdsong O’Quinn, 84, of Pollok will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother James Bickley and Brother Ronnie Frankens officiating. Eulogy will be given by Stacey Womack. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Mrs. O’Quinn was born September 19, 1933 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Grover Cleveland and Bernice (Cummings) Birdsong, and died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. O’Quinn had resided in Angelina County all her life. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and she will especially be remembered for her great biscuits. She was a member of the Lufkin Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Pollok Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John Riley O’Quinn of Pollok; sons, Riley Dean O’Quinn and wife Jan of Wells and Ben Carrol O’Quinn of Pollok; daughter, Stacey Womack and husband Richard of Hudson; chosen children, Janet and Lee Thompson of Leggett; granddaughters, Jana O'Quinn of Wells, Cassy Womack O’Quinn of Hudson, and Trisha Walther of Bryan; grandsons, Joe Ben O’Quinn and wife Erika of Wells, Josh Womack of Hudson, David Womack and Haley of California, John Cody O’Quinn and Becca of Huntington, and Tyrel O’Quinn and Regina of Pollok; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene McGee and husband Kenneth of Lufkin; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Jane O’Quinn of Huntington and Jo Birdsong of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kim O’Quinn; great-granddaughter, Marren Womack; brother, Kenneth Birdsong; and sister, Lucille Bonner.
Pallbearers will be Lee Thompson, Christian Womack, David Womack, Joe Ben O’Quinn, Cody O’Quinn, and Tyrel O’Quinn.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
