Janice Peebles

Funeral services for Janice Peebles, 89, of Burke will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Cowart and Brother Trey Thompson officiating. A private burial will be in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Peebles was born August 4, 1935 in Almyra, Arkansas to the late Lula Marie (Dobson) and William Henry Weatherford, and died Friday, May 23, 2025 in a local hospice facility. She had resided in Burke for 50 years.

Mrs. Peebles was a Labor & Delivery Nurse at General Hospital in Greenville, Mississippi for 15 years. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and loved to cook. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Jimmy Williams, Brenda and James Price, and Debbie Brasher, all of Burke; grandchildren and spouses, Jason and Lacie Williams, Jennifer and Todd Douglas, William and Amber Price, and Josh Brasher; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Weatherford of Burke; sister, Faye Hill of Lufkin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clark Peebles; granddaughter, Ashley J’Nan; one brother; and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Jason Williams, William Price, Josh Brasher, Todd Douglas, Josh Williams, and Jace Williams.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning prior to the services.
