Janet Lonis Gregory

Graveside services for Janet Lonis Gregory, 78, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Stryker Cemetery in Corrigan with Harold Seago officiating.

Mrs. Gregory was born July 16, 1943 in Livingston, Texas to the late Lucille (Lunsford) and Maxey V. Haverland, and died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Gregory resided in Lufkin most of her life. She was a seamstress and worked in alterations at Jim Williams Menswear for several years. She was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening and canning. Mrs. Gregory attended Cross Timbers Cowboy Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nora Lonis and Richard Weeks II of Beaumont; grandchildren and spouses, Courtney and Justin Matchett, Darryl, Jr. and Joslyn Duff, Jesse and April Vail, and Wyatt Vail; great-grandchildren, Haylie Dorcz, Madyson Dorcz, Braxton Dorcz, Layton Matchett, Kenlee Duff, Karsyn Duff, Austin Vail, and Parker Vail; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Ricky Boyett of Apple Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Billy J. Lonis, Sr.; second husband, Steve Gregory; son, Billy J. Lonis, Jr.; daughter, Michele Duff; and sister, Sue Hannah.
