James Vaughn Patterson Iii

Funeral services for James Vaughn Patterson III, 31, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Reuben Paul officiating. Interment will follow in the Moral Cemetery in Nacogdoches County.

James was born March 31, 1993 in Lufkin, Texas and died Friday, April 19, 2024 in DeRidder, Louisiana. James was a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his parents, Jo Ann and Charles Montes; sister, Ricki Goleman and husband Kirt; brothers, Ben Conley and wife Katy, Charles K. “Peanut” Montes; handpicked brother, Michael Patton; sisters, Becky Fitzgerald and husband Michael, Jennifer Montes; nieces, Gwen Goleman, Sadie Goleman, Amelia Conley, Bre Green, Kaylee Ham, Claire Ham, Lily Ham, Makayla Montes; nephews, Kolt Goleman, Grant Conley, Jackson Conley, Blake McMullen, Tristan Glover, Devin Montes, Ryan Montes, Hunter Patton; aunt and uncle, Beverly and Danny  Weeks; uncles and aunts, Terry and Julia Montes, Ronnie and Allison Montes; aunts and uncles, Kathy and Jason Manley, Tina Martin and Ronnie Bynum; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Betty Bouslog; paternal grandparents, Clyde and Opal Montes; uncles, Bill Bouslog, Richard Bouslog, Jackie Bouslog; and cousin, Windi Bouslog.

Pallbearers will be Kirt Goleman, Hunter Patton, Ben Conley, Ryan Montes, David Evett, Colton Dickerson, and Charles K. “Peanut” Montes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kolt Goleman, Grant Conley, Jackson Conley, and Devin Montes.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
