James Michael Oleinik

Funeral services for James Michael Oleinik, 72, of Corrigan, Texas will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Raif officiating. Interment will follow in the Stryker Cemetery.

Mr. Oleinik was born May 17, 1952 in Hatley, Wisconsin, to the late John Conrad Oleinik and Johanna (Kuklinski) Oleinik, and died Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in his residence.

James had resided in Corrigan for 48 years. He enjoyed cooking for his family and gardening. His hobbies included small repair of engines, antiquing, and collecting oil lamps. He was a member of Corrigan Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary (Bacon) Oleinik of Corrigan; sons and daughters in law, Christopher and Kelly Oleinik of Corrigan, Nicholas and Lorenda Oleinik of Pollok; daughters and son in law, Leslie and Blake Gunter of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Jennifer Martin of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Matthew and Morgan Oleinik, Christen Oleinik, Katlynn Oleinik, Jordan Oleinik, Steven Gunter, Ava Gunter, Ashton Martin, Graycen Martin, and Avery Martin; brother and sister in law, Vern Oleinik and Kathy of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Thomas Oleinik of Huntsville; sister, Rose Ann Gusman of Schofield, Wisconsin; sister and brother in law, Loretta and Jeff Robl of Weston, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers.

Pallbearers will be Russell Shumate, Jordan Oleinik, Matthew Oleinik, Ashley Bacon, Raymond Wallace and Blake Gunter.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to H.E.A.R.T.S. Veterans Museum of Texas, 463 State Highway 75 N, Huntsville, Texas 77320.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home.
